It's not too late to get your GED.
Aspire's free online GED program helps Texas adults prepare for and pass the GED test. We'll give you the tools, the classes, and the support to walk into that test ready.
WHAT IS THE GED & HOW DO YOU GET ONE?
The GED is a high school equivalent diploma. It carries the same weight as a traditional high school diploma when applying for jobs, promotions, or college programs. If you haven't finished high school, a GED is how you get there.
To earn your GED, you need to pass four subject tests: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. You can test each subject on your own timeline whenever you feel ready. There's no requirement to take all four at once.
THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
Step 1 — Fill out the interest form
1
Click here to complete our short interest form. This tells us a little about you and what subjects you need.

Step 2 — Take your placement exam
2
Once we receive your form, we'll send you instructions to complete your online placement exam. This helps us figure out exactly where to place you in Math and Language Arts.
Step 3 — Your enrollment call
3
After your placement exam is reviewed, we'll call you to go over your results, answer any questions, and build your class schedule together.
Step 5 — Pick up your books
If your classes require a textbook, there will be a scheduled pickup date before the semester starts.
Step 4 — Pay your materials fee and attend registration

Once your schedule is set, you'll pay the $45 semester materials and registration fee to secure your spot. Before classes begin, you'll attend a short online orientation so you know exactly what to expect.

No. Aspire is a GED prep program — we prepare you to pass the GED test. The GED is awarded by the GED Testing Service once you pass all four subject tests.
-
That's entirely up to you. The GED is not a linear process. You can request to test for any subject as soon as you feel ready, even if you haven't finished all the classes for that subject. The faster you learn the material the sooner you can test.
-
No. You can take each subject test separately on your own timeline. Many students pass subjects one at a time as they complete their prep.
-
Just let us know which subjects you've already passed and we'll enroll you in only the classes you still need.

At this time, Aspire's GED prep program is only available to Texas residents.

In order to attend our GED preparation program, an intermediate level of English, both oral and written, is required.
This will help you understand the material, follow classes, and, when you are ready, take the GED exam.
If you're not there yet, we recommend starting our ESL classes, and once you reach, at least, ESL Level 104, you may consider taking classes in our GED Preparation program.
-
All Aspire GED prep classes are live, instructor-led classes held online through Microsoft Teams. You'll be in class with a real instructor in real time, this is not a self-paced program where you log in whenever you feel like it. Classes are scheduled and attendance matters.
Each class is 2 hours long. To get the most out of the program and be truly prepared when it's time to test, plan to put in additional study time outside of class as well. The more you put in the more prepared you'll be.
YOUR GED IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK
You've been thinking about this long enough. Aspire's free online GED prep program is here, the classes are live, the support is real, and the only thing standing between you and your GED is getting started.
