WHAT IS THE GED & HOW DO YOU GET ONE?
The GED is a high school equivalent diploma. It carries the same weight as a traditional high school diploma when applying for jobs, promotions, or college programs. If you haven't finished high school, a GED is how you get there.
To earn your GED, you need to pass four subject tests: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. You can test each subject on your own timeline whenever you feel ready. There's no requirement to take all four at once.
HERE'S HOW ASPIRE HELPS
Aspire offers online GED prep courses in all four subjects. Our classes teach you exactly what's covered on each test, so you walk in confident and ready.
Already passed some subjects? No problem. Just let us know which ones you still need, and we'll enroll you in those classes only.
WHY GET YOUR GED?
A GED opens doors that have been closed without a high school diploma. Here's what becomes possible when you earn yours:
Better job opportunities Most employers require a high school diploma or equivalent. A GED puts you in the running for positions you've been overlooked for and can qualify you for a promotion you've been waiting on.
Continue your education A GED is your ticket into college, vocational programs, and trade schools. Whatever you want to pursue next, this is the first step.
Personal pride This one is hard to put into words until you're holding it. Finishing something you started, for yourself, is its own reward.
Set an example for your family When the people who look up to you see you finish, it changes what they believe is possible for themselves too.
ASPIRE GED PREP COURSES
Aspire offers online GED prep courses in all four GED subject areas:
· Math
· Science
· Social Studies
· Language Arts
All classes are held online through Microsoft Teams. We offer morning and evening class options held Monday through Thursday so you can find a time that fits around your job, your kids, and your life.
Our program runs on a fall and spring semester schedule, giving you two opportunities per year to get started.
Before your first class you'll take a quick online placement exam so we can make sure you're starting in the right place. Some courses have required materials; if books are needed for your classes there will be a scheduled pickup date before the semester begins.
Already passed one or more GED subjects? Just let us know which ones you still need and we'll enroll you in those classes only.
HOW CLASSES WORK
All Aspire GED prep classes are live, instructor-led classes held online through Microsoft Teams. You'll be in class with a real instructor in real time, this is not a self-paced program where you log in whenever you feel like it. Classes are scheduled and attendance matters.
Each class is 2 hours long. To get the most out of the program and be truly prepared when it's time to test, plan to put in additional study time outside of class as well. The more you put in the more prepared you'll be.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU GIVE OUT THE GED? No. Aspire is a GED prep program — we prepare you to pass the GED test. The GED is awarded by the GED Testing Service once you pass all four subject tests.
WHEN WILL I GET MY GED? That's entirely up to you. The GED is not a linear process. You can request to test for any subject as soon as you feel ready, even if you haven't finished all the classes for that subject. The faster you learn the material the sooner you can test.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE ALL FOUR SUBJECT TESTS AT ONCE? No. You can take each subject test separately on your own timeline. Many students pass subjects one at a time as they complete their prep.
WHAT IF I'VE ALREADY PASSED SOME SUBJECTS? Just let us know which subjects you've already passed and we'll enroll you in only the classes you still need.
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER USED MICROSOFT TEAMS? No problem. We'll make sure you're set up and comfortable before your first class.
IS THIS PROGRAM AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF TEXAS? At this time Aspire's GED prep program is only available to Texas residents.
DO I JUST HAVE TO SHOW UP TO PASS? Attendance is a start but it's not enough. Each class is 2 hours long and to truly be prepared for your GED tests you'll need to put in additional study time outside of class. The more effort you put in the better prepared you'll be when it's time to test. You get out of this program what you put into it.
YOUR GED IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK
You've been thinking about this long enough. Aspire's free online GED prep program is here, the classes are live, the support is real, and the only thing standing between you and your GED is getting started.
